MUSICAL THEATRE CLASSES (Ages 14-18)

Fridays at Stumptown:

Get an exclusive, behind the scenes musical theatre experience at Stumptown Stages, modeled after the very successful program at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre. Join us after school on a Friday for a workshop downtown at Portland Center for the Performing Arts. We will offer one workshop for each of our productions next year—9 to 5, It’s a Wonderful Life, Aida, and Ain’t Misbehavin’. Learn the actual choreography and music from a few numbers, have pizza with some cast members, watch the show that night, and talk with the actors and production staff after the show.

Triple Threat Classes:

Whether you just like to perform as a hobby, hope to try for theatre scholarships in college, want to audition for conservatory, or plan a career in musical theatre, this workshop is for you. Musical theatre performance requires that you excel at acting, singing, and dancing. These are master classes catered to you. We will help you strengthen your weak areas and polish your strong suits. Join our professional choreographers and coaches at your school site for this 6 week after school workshop.

Perform at PCPA: An Original Musical--'Cindy and Her Fella' by Christopher Moll and Steven Dahlke.

All students who have participated in the above workshops will be invited to audition for our Portland premiere of the original musical “Cindy and Her Fella”, a modern spin on the Cinderella story. Work with professional artists in downtown Portland in this unique opportunity to become Stumptown Stages’ first class of young theatre professionals. This show was written by our partners at Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre, with young audiences in mind. Invite your whole family to come see YOU onstage at PCPA and celebrate your success. Scholarships are available for all workshops. If you have the talent, dedication, and a teacher willing to recommend you, we want you to be able to participate.
